Criminal Records Access in Hinds County

In Hinds County, the County Clerk or courts do not process official state-level criminal history or background checks. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS) handles statewide name-based criminal history searches.

The MDPS allows only record subjects to conduct name-based searches for official statewide criminal history information at $32 per search. The search fee is payable by credit or debit cards like Visa, American Express, or Discover. Searches may be processed within 30 calendar days from the time of request.

Localized criminal case records and unofficial criminal histories may be obtained from the clerk of the courts in the County and the County Sheriff’s office respectively. Online access to criminal case files is also available via the Mississippi Electronic Court search portal.

Hinds County Probate Records
